Public Procurement Unit

The Public Procurement Unit has the following missions

  1. to ensure the quality of the procurement files and the proper functioning of the Contracts Committee;
  2. Establish, at the beginning of the year, the Department’s annual consolidated contracting plan;
  3. Reviewing the general procurement notice and monitoring its publication in accordance with Articles 6 and 56 of the Public Procurement Code;
  4. Provide technical support to the various departments for contracting operations;
  5. prepare quarterly reports on the awarding and execution of contracts for the Minister, for transmission to the Central Directorate of Public Procurement and to the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority.

The Coordinator of the Procurement Unit is appointed by order of the Minister from among government employees in the A or B hierarchy, or equivalent.
