Decree No. 2022-1812 of September 26, 2022 on the powers of the Minister of Tourism and Recreation

THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC,

HAVING REGARD to the Constitution;

HAVING REGARD TO Decree No. 2022-1774 of September 17, 2022 appointing the Prime Minister;

HAVING REGARD TO Decree No. 2022-1775 of September 17, 2022, appointing ministers and determining the composition of the Government

DECREES:

Article 1. – Under the authority of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Tourism and Leisure prepares and implements the policy defined by the Head of State in the fields of Tourism and Leisure.

For Tourism :

– It prepares and applies the legislation and regulations relating to tourism and hotel professions and activities;

– It promotes the management of tourism and ensures its promotion, development and diversification. It promotes Senegal as a tourist destination abroad. In particular, it encourages business tourism and luxury tourism;

– It promotes the tourism industry.

Under Recreation :

– It promotes leisure activities and ensures that leisure spaces are taken into account in the development of cities and towns, in conjunction with local authorities and developers.

Article 2. – The Prime Minister and the Minister of Tourism and Leisure are responsible, each in his or her own area of responsibility, for the execution of this decree, which will be published in the Official Journal.
