Integrated Tourism Zones :

Senegal aims to become a reference tourist destination through the development of new integrated poles and the upgrading of existing sites. The development of integrated tourism poles takes into account the preservation of the coastline and other natural and cultural sites in the hinterland.

This strategy, which aims to make tourism an engine of growth, foreign exchange generation and employment, is based on three axes:

Development of 3 to 6 integrated tourist zones around clear segments (beach, cultural/religious, business, eco-tourism);

Development and revitalization of the Senegalese tourist offer, through:

  • the development of the business and “city trip” offer in Dakar;
  • the redevelopment of Saly with the development of domestic business tourism;
  • the development of an ecotourism offer in Eastern Senegal, in the Sine-Saloum, in Casamance and in Saint-Louis;
  • the development of cultural and discovery tourism in Saint-Louis and Gorée;

Relaunch of tourism in Casamance.
