The missions of the Gender Unit are
– develop action plans for all Ministry stakeholders with reference to the implementation plan of the National Gender Equality and Equity Strategy (NGEES);
– ensure that the different needs and interests of women and men are taken into account in planning, programming and budgeting frameworks;
– facilitate the formulation and monitoring of gender-sensitive results indicators in the Ministry’s areas of intervention.
The Coordinator of the Gender and Equity Unit is appointed by decree from among government employees in the A or B hierarchy, or equivalent.
